O Ministro das Relações Exteriores do Irã, Abbas Araghchi, prometeu apoio aos "amigos" de Teerã no Líbano nesta sexta-feira, 3, ao desembarcar em Beirute para uma série de reuniões com autoridades do país. É a primeira vez que o chanceler vai à capital libanesa desde que a guerra entre Israel e Hezbollah se intensificou nas últimas semanas.
"Tenham certeza de que a República Islâmica do Irã está e estará firmemente ao lado dos amigos no Líbano", disse Araghchi em Beirute, acrescentando que Teerã apoia o Líbano, a população xiita do país e o Hezbollah. "Era necessário dizer isso pessoalmente".
A viagem do chefe diplomático iraniano ao país em guerra já havia sido anunciada ontem por veículos internacionais, em um momento em que Israel amplia a pressão militar sobre os inimigos regionais e realiza operações direcionadas contra lideranças dos movimentos do "Eixo da Resistência". Em uma semana de guerra no Líbano, as Forças Armadas de Israel conseguiram alcançar o secretário-geral do Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah. Ismail Haniyeh, chefe do Hamas, foi morto em um ataque em Teerã.
Na capital libanesa, Araghchi foi fotografado ao lado do primeiro-ministro Najib Mikati, que está sob forte pressão diante do conflito entre Israel e Hezbollah e os danos para o país. Oficialmente, o governo do Líbano não declarou guerra ao Estado judeu ou mobilizou o Exército do país em qualquer ação hostil, apesar das violações de soberania israelenses.
A notícia sobre a visita do chanceler a uma zona ativa de guerra levantou preocupações, em um momento em que Israel calcula uma resposta ao Irã pelo disparo de cerca de 200 mísseis contra seu território no começo da semana. Em outras ocasiões, o Exército israelense eliminou alvos iranianos em países da região, incluindo em bombardeios contra o Irã e contra a Síria.
